Biography
Mark Kroeten is a contemporary oil painter from the United States of America. He has been a glassblower, worked with ceramics, cast metals and glass, and has worked in many other artistic disciplines which he draws from.
Color is a very powerful element in Marks' work. Color can create moods, and reminds one of memories associated with particular hues which become very personal. Colors can make a person react in a calculated way if used properly, such as making one feel cool, or warm, happy or sad, or even hungry.
Mark Kroeten has attended several colleges in America. The University of Minnesota, Anoka Ramsey College, and Minneapolis Technical College.
Signaturedots ( artist note ): this work represents the colors around us. We are the black dots. Colors used reflect marble, clouds, and the earth. The outer edge of the color wheel is where you would find the hues that are used. These are calming muted colors that give one a sense of stability and the power to achieve great things.

Mark Kroeten's painting is the expression of what he likes. We can say that he is an epicurean who takes delight painting his favourite subjects.
These subjects are also symbols of what Mark Kroeten loves of life: little everyday's pleasures, to be satisfied with few simple things, to enjoy the moment.
For the artist it needs to find the positive apects of this heedless and stormy society that makes bonds between people ephemeral. For example the pure concept of "endless becoming": it can offer new opportunities and stops boredom; the concept of "to be satisfied with little" is the cause of great satisfaction and success in the research of one's onwn happyness.
Kroeten's work can be defined of intimist mind, in the sense that it researchs and likes to offer a world outlook to obtain interior harmony. The work he presents at this exhibition you can grasp the reference to some oriental decorated silks and the whole recreates, with great pregnance, a velvety sensation of peace and quiet serenity.
