Biography

Fiorentina De Biasi was born in Castellammare di Stabia ( Naples, Italy ). She studied at DAMS ( Department of Art Music and Entertaining ) at Bologna University. She graduated in 1999. After experimenting with painting, she is now performing photo collage.

Some artists love to speak to contemporaneousness, others to posterity. Fiorentina De Biasi speaks to contemporaneousness. Hers spiritual journey is a metaphor, in the form, of our actual condition.

Our experiences become only short spots, or little impersonal memories, cut and collected pieces. Often they are simple images with no smells or sounds, maybe they are not even ours but we think they are.

The artist anyway does not have a polemical or simplistic tone, in fact she plays and confuses making fantastic landscapes, so the spectator is not immediately able to grasp the lively irony.
